In China, Winter Solstice has the longest night. Women there would get up early to prepare and cook dumplings.After serving for the prayers to their God and ancestors, the dumplings were then shared among the family members who sat on a round table.Not only it symbolized the gradual return of the Sun (round and heated), it also represented as the roundness cum wellness of the family. It has since become the symbol of well-being.
